The cost of data breaches and data proliferation continues to grow year after year.  As the DBA it is our job to protect the data.  In this session you will learn how to use the features, functionality, and applications available from Oracle to reduce the possibility of unauthorized access of data by hackers or internal users.  You will learn how to do a basic evaluation of your database security practices and setups.  Then you will learn how to leverage that information to propose and implement changes to increase the security of your data.

Objective 1: The session attender will learn how to utilize basic sql statements, Privilege Analysis, and the Database Security Assessment Tool to help identify areas of focus to improve database security.

Objective 2: The session attender will go away from the session with a firm knowledge of Security features added since 12c that should be implemented to increase the security of the data in the database.
