This is a paid workshop and must be purchased through the OAUG. Data is the life blood of every organization. Data is the new currency of the modern world and thus becomes a core asset. Everything in an organization operates on data in order to conduct its business by means of recording transactions, promoting business, making decisions and so on. The better the quality of data and information that is derived from it, the better an organization operates. Yet, data management is often an afterthought in most organizations. The process of data governance brings the discipline to managing data in optimal way so that everything that depends upon it becomes optimal and efficient. In this primer course, you will learn the definition and concepts of data governance, building and evolving the data governance program and key considerations and challenges that go with it, the roles, skills needed, and the data stewardship activities, and more. This training is beneficial for data architects, designers and developers, data scientists, data stewards, data quality professionals and anyone that cares for the welfare of the data its quality.
