Abstract: Discrete Manufacturing can be a powerful tool for use in warehouse manufacturing execution systems (MES). Implementing best practices for discrete manufacturing is important for the fluid movement and tracking of manufactured goods though the shop floor. They are also necessary to properly integrate the manufacturing process with planning modules like Advanced Supply Chain Planning (ASCP). This presentation will discuss several best practices for discrete manufacturing and review real world examples.
Objective 1: Proper shop floor set up in EBS including setup of operations and transactions as well as methods used to move goods through the shop floor.
Objective 2: Demonstrate the value of integration of other modules to enhance planning and execution including Quality and Advanced Supply Chain Planning.
Objective 3: Demonstrate limitations of standard discrete manufacturing and preventative measures to avoid shortfalls.
Audience: Functional / User
