Abstract: Creating a business case for upgrading to the latest release of JD Edwards is difficult for many organizations. Better adoption of the system through an improved user interface; enhanced visibility to business operations through intuitive screens; and even faster response to support issues are 'nice to haves;' but they are primarily 'soft' benefits. Most organizations need a business case comprised of tangible; hard-dollar benefits in order to justify both the out-of-pocket and opportunity costs of an upgrade project. This case study presentation will describe how a JDE customer built an upgrade business case by finding improvement opportunities within their key business functions.

Objective 1: Provide key points to be included in the business case for your upgrade

Objective 2: Understand the various types of upgrades and what types of ROI can come from each

Objective 3: Provide tips and techniques to ensure your upgrade is approved
