Automatic Diagnostic Repository (ADR) is a tool that every DBA's should taking advantage of.

This tool and my presentation will help database administrators provide to their customers away to reduce the cost of ownership by reducing the time to trouble shoot anomalies. It will also help administrators gather information to see what is potentially causing problems which will bring about higher availability. You can see patterns and incidents that could potentially point out problems before they happen. This tool has manageablity written all over it. It was added as a new feature in Oracle 11. However if you ever ask a group of DBA's if they have evry used it; most will say that they don't even know what it is. This is a great free tool that Oracle has added to the database to allow the DBA to easy identify and diagnose problems in the database. It will reduce the time it takes to bring resolution to the problem. Oracle is not writing events and alerts to files outside the database. The ADR tool is used to quickly gather information out of these files so you can easily see what is happening to your database. After attending this session, users will be able to:
